Building the mine of the future
Côté Gold, a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd., sought a branding strategy that would highlight its distinctive features within IAMGOLD’s mining portfolio. Additionally, the branding aimed to attract the highly skilled workforce required to operate a mine deploying autonomous technology.
To acknowledge Côté Gold’s unique status within IAMGOLD’s portfolio, we developed a distinct brand highlighting the mine’s focus on community and technology while maintaining a solid connection to IAMGOLD and the operational expertise it brings to Côté Gold.
We established the brand framework through interviews and working sessions with the client’s senior team and key stakeholders. A clear brand system was built around the framework and applied to all print and digital materials optimized for each Côté’s three key audiences.
The new visual identity is underpinned by a system of easy-to-use brand guidelines that we developed for Côté’s communication team, empowering them to confidently use the brand in their communications without the daily support of an agency.
Our team defined a brand photography style and art-directed several custom photoshoots to capture construction progress and employee interactions.
