A Tarot Deck Honouring Women
A visual homage to strength, creativity, and resilience.
A little over a year ago, our studio began a passion project — the design of a bespoke Tarot deck featuring exclusively female figures to celebrate women's strength and resilience.
Tarot cards, often dismissed as mere party games, have long served as a powerful tool for storytelling, self-reflection, and empowerment. For many women, the female figures depicted in Tarot are more than just symbolic archetypes; in a world where strong female role models are scarce, these cards provide rare glimpses of female power and potential.
We drew inspiration from this legacy to design a deck that resonates with the multifaceted experiences of women today, featuring figures who embody wisdom, creativity, courage, and vision. Each card in our series is inspired by a woman whose story continues to spark change in her community or industry.

Here’s a look at the cards we’ve brought to life so far:
The Empress – Inspired by Joan of Arc
Symbolizing femininity, creativity, and inner strength, The Empress reminds us to embrace our potential and support others by sharing advice, creating opportunities, or simply offering encouragement.

The High Priestess – Inspired by Maya Angelou
Embodying wisdom, intuition, and reflection, she invites us to trust our inner voice and seek clarity amidst life’s uncertainties.

The Strength Card – Inspired by Margot Trudell
Representing courage, patience, and resilience, this card reminds us that true power comes from within. Margot’s quiet strength and unwavering vision have helped build a thriving design community in an industry that too often celebrates male voices.
The Star – Inspired by Beth Borody
Representing hope, guidance, and renewal, this card honours Beth’s work as CEO of Femina Collective, where she has created safe spaces for women to connect, grow, and drive meaningful change in mining (a male-dominated industry).
The Queen of Wands – Inspired by Mandy Bujold
Symbolizing confidence, courage, and a passionate spirit, this card reflects Mandy’s fire for change and her work in promoting women in. In our depiction, she sits on her throne wearing red, honouring the country she’s proudly represented. The wand in her hand resembles an Olympic torch — a nod to her legacy as an athlete and her ongoing drive to inspire. Behind her, the lion motif speaks to her courage and determination to build a better world for women and girls.

What began as a design experiment turned into a celebration of women who uplift, empower, and create space for others. With each card, we hope to shine a light on the women who embody these archetypes and remind us of the strength we all carry within.
